FGV holds seminar on social responsibility
FGV Knowledge is holding a “Social Responsibility Seminar,” as part of the “Lisbon Series of Contemporary Debates.” Coordinated by Justice André Mendonça of the Federal Supreme Court, the event is an initiative of the Permanent Forum on Social Responsibility and part of a series of meetings building on discussions begun at the Lisbon Legal Forum in June of this year. This public event will take place on September 25, at 9 a.m., at the FGV Cultural Center.
The speakers will include some senior Brazilian public officials, such as minister for racial equality, Anielle Franco, and the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castro. The event will also bring together managers of companies and civil society organizations, opinion leaders and experts to debate the challenges faced by institutions whose mission is to apply and disseminate social responsibility practices.
In the morning, there will be two panel discussions: one on legislative innovations in this area and the other on private social investment. In the afternoon, there will be five debates about social responsibility initiatives and strategies in the fields of education, health, the environment and community welfare. The FGV Social Responsibility Awards Council will also be formally set up during the event.
