FGV hosts international conference on social sciences and data

Fundação Getulio Vargas hosted the Social Sciences Universities Network (SSUN) Annual Conference between February 27 and March 1, 2023. The event, held in FGV’s main building in Rio de Janeiro, explored the theme of “Social Sciences and Data Science.”
The event featured representatives of six countries and it looked at topics such as:
- Data science and public policy;
- The latest trends in the online economy;
- Legal and ethical issues in the digital age;
- Educational approaches to the use of technology;
- Digital infrastructure focused on research.
The SSUN network was created in 2019 to promote cooperation between universities on all continents in the areas of talent training, scientific research and academic innovation. The 15 participating institutions are active global governance players and act as drivers of higher education in the humanities and social sciences.
The 2023 edition of the conference included an opening speech, roundtables and a panel of short presentations to promote joint research among the participants. You can watch recordings of these activities on FGV’s YouTube channel.
