FGV hosts national congress of Law and Economic studies

On October 17-18, FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO) will host the 6th Annual Congress of the Brazilian Association of Law and Economics (ABDE).  The objective of the event - one of the main research discussion forums in the area - is the exchange of experiences and academic research with a focus on the interdisciplinarity among Law, Economics and Social Sciences.The two-day congress will present technical work by FGV specialists and representatives of national and foreign institutions, such as the University of Hamburg (Germany), Montreal (Canada) and Illinois (United States). According to the event organizers, the goal is to encourage a broad dialog between academics and the industry.The director of Rio de Janeiro Law School, professor Joaquim Falcão, and the president of the Brazilian Association of Law and Economics and coordinator of the Center for Research in Law and Economics (CPDEs), professor Antônio José Maristrello Porto, will open the meeting - which will also welcome the director from FGV/EPGE - Brazilian School of Economics and Finance, Rubens Penha Cysne, among the speakers.The event is a partnership between the Brazilian Association of Law and Economics and the CPDE.The congress, to be held in Portuguese, takes place from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at FGV's headquarters, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.Please click here to register (in Portuguese).
