Fundação Getulio Vargas, through its International Affairs Division (FGV DINT), has launched the selection process for the fourth edition of the Latin American Governability, Political Management and Public Management Program, which will take place on selected Saturdays as of February 1, 2020, in Sao Paulo. Prospective students have until January 27 to apply.
The Latin American Governability, Political Management and Public Management Program is organized in partnership with the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and its goal is to train leaders to strengthen public administration across the region. The target audience consists of professionals who want to participate actively in the formation and development of public policies to support social transformation processes. The aim is to offer tools for public officials and representatives of civil society to perform their functions better, based on the principles of sustainable development, strategic vision and effective public sector management.
The methodology used in the program seeks to develop managerial skills to enhance transformation processes and to tackle challenges in an innovative way, promoting governability and development in different locations. The program includes seminars focused on planning, development, management, leadership, strategic communication and conflict resolution.
More than 22,000 people across Latin America have so far taken part in the program, in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The activities will last 150 hours in all, including in-person seminars, a distance education module and the development of a final project. This project must be produced as part of a group and it should set out a public policy plan based on the diagnosis of concrete challenges. Participants will receive a certificate from FGV and CAF when they have completed at least 75% of the program’s activities and had their final project approved.
