FGV's Ensino Médio Digital Portal - a partnership between FGV Press and FGV Online - won the 'Top Education 2013' award in the category 'Educational Portal', promoted by Editora Segmento.  Besides being the most remembered brand elected through a poll that took place from May to July this year, the initiative was considered the best technological tool for teaching institutions, applied in a customized virtual environment, with exclusive content and services for students, parents and teachers, and a supportive and collaborative teaching and learning environment. On the air for a year and having reached the mark of almost 50,000 registered people and more than 970 thousand accesses, FGV's Ensino Médio Digital Portal went through a reformulation and it is constantly updated. The objective is to expand the reach among students, making it a reference for Middle School studies and to prepare candidates for the Brazilian college entrance exams and the Brazilian High School National Examination (Enem). The development of a project of this nature and greatness has the exact purpose of assisting the structuring of a new High School, popularizing knowledge and the access to higher education, explains professor Marieta de Moraes Ferreira, director of FGV Press and one of the responsibles for the project, next to professor Mary Kimiko, director of Educational Solutions of FGV Online.Still according to Marieta, the Portal was designed to help High Schools in Brazil face their main challenges - which range from high school dropout rates to poor preparation of the teachers to comply with the guidelines of Enem's exams. The results of the 'Top Education 2013' awards has been published by Revista Educação and may be visited here (in Portuguese)Click here to learn more about FGV's Ensino Médio Digital Portal, in Portuguese.
