FGV professor receives PMI-Rio award for contribution to project management teaching
The coordinator of FGV’s Project Management MBA Program, André Barcaui, was declared the Professor of the Year in the 2019 PMI-Rio Awards. The awards ceremony was held during the 16th Regional Project Management Meeting, on September 12, when the winners in each of the seven categories were announced.
Barcaui was chosen because of his outstanding contribution to project management teaching at university level in 2018.
“It is with great joy and appreciation that I receive this award for 2018 Professor of the Year from PMI-Rio. There are several reasons for my enthusiasm. First because of the prestige of the award itself, and even more so as I had the honor of competing against peers for whom I have great affection and admiration,” Barcaui said.
The professor also said he was proud to receive an award from an institution of the caliber of PMI-Rio, whose mission is to pursue the goals of the Project Management Institute, the world’s biggest organization in its field. He also stressed that he enjoys being in a classroom and contributing to the education of new project managers. “Being a professor is a blessing for which I am grateful every day,” he concluded.
André Barcaui has a post-doctorate in administration from the University of Sao Paulo, a doctorate in administration from the National University of Rosario, a master’s in management systems from Fluminense Federal University, and two undergraduate degrees, in information technology and psychology, majoring in cognitive-behavioral therapy. He is an international speaker and the author of many articles and books in the area of management. He is the coordinator of FGV’s Project Management MBA Program.
