Yesterday, June 4, the Communication and Marketing Division (FGV/DICOM) held the first FGV DAY of 2014 - an initiative that for six years has welcomed students from high schools of Rio de Janeiro to learn about the degree programs and the physical space of Fundação Getulio Vargas. At the meeting this week, more than 100 students from the schools São Bento, Saint John, Anglo Americano, Santa Rosa de Lima and Escola Sesc de Ensino Médio spent an afternoon at FGV, in Botafogo, where they attended a presentation about the institution and lectures with the professors of the courses in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, History and Applied Mathematics. The counselor Isabel Guimarães, of Colégio São Bento - school that has been participating in FGV DAY since 2007 - evaluated the event and highlighted the importance of the partnership with FGV. It is always important to have information - a basic condition to enable students to choose the career they want to pursue. Here they can learn more about the labor market, activities, opportunities and the way the chosen course works. The partnership between schools and higher learning institutions greatly makes this easier, she said.As for student achievement, the counselors of Escola Sesc, Solange Castellano and Eliana Palmeira believe that it is quite favorable. The feedback is always positive because students come with the goal of deepening their knowledge about their course of interest. In direct contact with the academic environment, they can confirm or not their choices, they highlighted. The next FGV DAY will take place on June 10, at FGV's main offices, in Botafogo. In São PauloIn São Paulo, the event ?Conheça a Graduação? (Learn about the degrees) also allows high school students to visit the premises of Fundação Getulio Vargas in the city and get more information about the courses offered. The next edition of the 2014 event is expected to take in August. Please click here and learn more about all FGV's undergraduate degrees.
