FGV reaches unprecedented milestone and passes Harvard on LinkedIn
Fundação Getulio Vargas has reached an unprecedented milestone on LinkedIn. With over 725,000 followers, FGV outranks long-standing and renowned institutions in the international scenario, such as Harvard University.
“It’s a feat unheard of in social networks and a major milestone for FGV, considering that Harvard and the other universities are known for recruiting students from all over the world”, said FGV’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Marcos Facó.
Already established as a reference in Brazil and in Latin America regarding the use of LinkedIn, FGV is constantly gaining notoriety overseas, fostering a professional network with sophisticated debate in an environment that brings together the academic and business worlds. According to Facó, users’ interest in FGV’s intellectual production showcases how the institution efficiently uses the social media site.
“The organic growth, without investments, shows people’s interest in FGV’s intellectual production, indicating that we are using the network correctly. It is not a question of posting with the correct frequency and during high visibility hours, but rather about publishing quality content, making a careful selection with curatorship, education, research, and information”, said Facó.
Recently, FGV was the only Latin American institution chosen by LinkedIn to join the network’s Native Video pilot project. The new feature, now available to all users, promotes engagement 20 times greater than other types of posts, in addition to providing clearer data on the profile and interests of followers.
