FGV represents Brazil in G20 think tank group

FGV plays a key role in Think 20 (T20) – G20’s engagement group formed by some of the main global think tanks. Professor Marlos Lima, executive director of FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), was offered a seat in T20’s advisory board, becoming Brazil’s only representative in the board, and professor Claudia Costin, director of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Education Policies (CEIPE) of FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), coordinates the work group titled “The future of work and education in the digital age”.

The T20 engagement group met for the very first time in February, in Buenos Aires. The event included meetings of T20’s advisory board, seminars, and coordination of the work groups. Additional meetings and events will be held throughout the year, leading up to the “T20 Summit” in September, when the group will reveal the results of activities along with G20 representatives.

T20 is G20’s engagement group formed by global think tanks. The group’s mission is to develop recommendations for public policies to be presented to heads of State during the G20 Summit in November 2018, held in Buenos Aires.

G20 is a political dialog group that gathers top economies worldwide. Brazil, Argentina and Mexico are Latin America’s representatives in the group. The G20’s rotating presidency was passed on from Germany to Argentina in 2018. The group’s agenda has expanded beyond international funding cooperation efforts, taking on a wide range of subjects with global impact, such as improving the business environment (Business 20), thinking about the youth (Youth 20), the empowerment of women (Women 20), and reflection and innovation of public policies (T20).
