FGV Rio Enactus holds third edition of project in Rio de Janeiro communities

The Association of Residents of Morro do Andaraí hosted last Saturday, March 15, the third edition of the course Germinação - conducted by FGV Rio Enactus team in partnership with Instituto Pereira Passos (IPP) and aimed at residents of Complexo do Andaraí.The idea of a course aimed at transferring knowledge in Administration to entrepreneurs emerged in 2012, when the first edition Analisando Meu Negócio? (Analyzing My Business), in partnership with Assessoria e Planejamento Para o Desenvolvimento (Asplande), was carried out. In 2013 the second edition was carried out, with residents of various favelas, such as Andaraí and Morro Azul, and the support of NPJ (Center for Legal Practice) of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School. This year, the project was given a new name Germinação - chosen by students in the course to evoke the idea of growth and development (germination) through concrete actions for the development of the individual, his/her project and the community. The course will be divided into four units (Personal Finance, Business Analysis, Management Issues and Corporate Law) and will be taught in the Residents Association of Andaraí. The seven classes will take place on Saturdays between March and May, and IPP will individually monitor the students in between classes - aiming at applying in practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom and prepare a business plan.Enactus is an international non-profit NGO, present in 36 countries, which seeks to encourage changes in the lives of socially disadvantaged communities through entrepreneurial action that unites college students, scholars and entrepreneurs.FGV Rio Enactus' team was founded in 2011 and counts on the participation of students from all Fundação Getulio Vargas' schools.
