FGV secures partnership with Angolan government

FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), went to Luanda to meet with several government officials.

After an invitation by members of the new Angolan government, professor Marcus Vinicius Rodrigues, executive manager of the Center for Cooperation with Africa and Portugal (NuCAP) from FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT), went to Luanda to meet with several government officials. The professor represented FGV in meetings with the new minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Jesus Faria Maiato, the secretary-general of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Agostinho de Carvalho dos Santos Van-Dúnem, and the CEO of BNA - Banco Nacional de Angola, Ana Paula Patrocínio Rodrigues.

Jesus Maiato, who was tasked with the mission of restructuring and improving the efficiency of Angola’s public engine, showed great enthusiasm in using all of FGV’s knowledge and expertise in such a difficult task of enhancing administrative efficiency within the new Angolan government. During the meeting with professor Marcus Vinicius, the new minister promised to visit FGV’s main office in the first few months of 2018.

The second public official of the new Angolan government to meet with DINT’s representative was Agostinho de Carvalho dos Santos Van-Dúnem. The secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Relations has proactively cooperated with FGV education projects in Angola.

Finally, professor Marcus Vinícius also met with the new CEO of Banco Nacional de Angola, with which FGV is currently negotiating a program to train BNA employees and restructure the bank’s academy. The cooperation agreement should be signed in January, during Ana Paula’s visit to Rio de Janeiro.
