FGV signs cooperation agreements with Middle Eastern and North African institutions

FGV’s International Director, professor Bianor Chandra, acting as President of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), signed two cooperation agreements in the field of administration and public policies with the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research Network (Menapar) and with the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (Bipa), during the International Congress of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS). Both agreements were signed by the president of FGV, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, and the General Director of Bipa and President of the Menapar network, Raed Mohammed Bem Shams. The agreements strengthen the prospects of academic and technical cooperation in the region.

The 2018 IIAS International Congress – “Strive, adapt, maintain: resilience of governance systems” – was organized in close collaboration with the Presidency of Tunisia and the National School of Administration (ENA), from June 25 to 29, 2018, in Tunisia.

The event, which mainly addressed Resilience, which refers to the ability of the government to provide appropriate responses to shocks, risks and disasters of any kind, was attended by 271 public administration scholars, students and professionals from 42 countries.

At the event, professor Cavalcanti participated in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the IIAS; chaired the sessions of the Capacity-building track; and was a lecturer in the International Commission on the Accreditation of Public Administration and Training Programs (ICAPA/IASIA) session.
