FGV students' film portrays scenario of solid waste in Brazil
The Center for Sustainability Studies of the São Paulo School of Business Administration (GVces /EAESP) has just released on FGV's Youtube channel the documentary Imagem de Nós (A Picture of Us) - a production by Enlace group, of the 8th edition of the Integrated Education for Sustainability (FIS).
The film intends to present a significant contribution to the complex and controversial implementation of the National Policy on Solid Waste (PNRS) in Brazil. I feel we got it right in this edition when we bet on audiovisual language, a way of communicating closer to young people, says the coordinator of GVces, Professor Mário Monzoni.
In order to put together the documentary, the group visited the cities of Paulínia, São José dos Campos, Porto Alegre, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Curvelo, Uberaba and Lagoa da Prata. In these cities, they visited projects and initiatives that seek to address the challenges of PNRS and talked with the different players working in this universe: government, businesses, civil society, trash collectors, experts and scholars, in an attempt to set a picture of the solid waste scenario in the country.
I believe the end result exceeded our best expectations. It is important to contextualize that the documentary was produced by undergraduate students of Economics, Business and Law of FGV São Paulo and, above all, our purpose is to model minds and hearts more prepared for contemporary challenges, explains Monzoni.
The documentary, available in Portuguese, had the support of Banco Itaú, Fundação Konrad Adenauer, Natura and Braskem.
