FGV takes part in ceremony celebrating 10th anniversary of Amazul
FGV has been working on the latter program through a partnership with the Navy, to develop and implement the methodology for monitoring the manufacture of metal structures at the Itaguaí Shipbuilding Complex in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
Fundação Getulio Vargas attended an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Amazônia Azul Tecnologia de Defesa S.A. (Amazul), a state-owned company whose main mission is to develop, transfer and maintain the technologies needed for the Brazilian Navy’s Nuclear Program, the Brazilian Nuclear Program and the Nuclear Submarine Development Program.
FGV has been working on the latter program through a partnership with the Navy, to develop and implement the methodology for monitoring the manufacture of metal structures at the Itaguaí Shipbuilding Complex in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It has also supported Amazul with various initiatives related to the Brazilian Nuclear Program, including a study to help define the institutional model for operating the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor.
During the ceremony, presided over by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral José Augusto Vieira da Cunha de Menezes, and Amazul’s CEO, Vice-Admiral Newton de Almeida Costa Neto, a commemorative plaque marking the company’s 10th anniversary was unveiled.
Sergio Gustavo Silveira da Costa, the executive manager of FGV Projetos, represented Fundação Getulio Vargas at the ceremony. He was given a copy of the book “Amazul’s First 10 Years – Homegrown Technology Benefiting Society” by Vice-Admiral Newton de Almeida Costa Neto, to thank FGV for its work.
