FGV welcomes applications for Academic Master’s and PhD programs in Administration

FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) is welcoming applications, until July 2. All classes will be taught in English.

FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) is welcoming applications for the Academic Master’s and PhD in Administration programs, until July 2. With grade 7 – the highest score according to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) – the programs offer methodological and conceptual training equivalent to those from renowned international institutions, as well as unique knowledge and access to different contexts of Brazilian reality. They also emphasize the generation and dissemination of research through publication in top journals, both in the field of Administration and other related areas.

The main goal of the Academic Master’s is to prepare students to enter the PhD course – whether at EBAPE or other prestigious institutions in Brazil or abroad – or to join the job market. The full-time course lasts for 18 months.

The PhD program’s main goal is to prepare students for academic life as professors and researchers in universities or academic institutions in Brazil or abroad. The full-time program lasts for 48 months.

The programs require students’ exclusive dedication, attending school every day, participating in research activities, seminars and discussions, reinforcing the program’s academic culture. In addition, all classes will be taught in English. Therefore, students must be proficient in English.

The program has an interdisciplinary approach and is intended for those who have an undergraduate degree in several areas. Students with degrees in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, Political Science, Sociology, Accounting, Statistics, and Applied Mathematics, among other areas, participate in the selection process along with those holding degrees in Administration.

The program is divided into four research tracks. Each student must follow one of the tracks, and can take mandatory courses from other tracks as elective courses, among others. The conceptual knowledge obtained in each of the tracks can be applied in the fields of Public and Business Administration. Similarly, qualitative and quantitative methods can be used.

The school will also host an Open Day to introduce the program on May 3 at 6 p.m., at EBAPE’s main office in Rio de Janeiro.
