FGV welcomes scholarship students in partnership with Argentine government

This Monday, August 5, the II Specialization Course in Management of Innovation in Science and Technology began, offered to scholarship students of the Argentine government program BECAR. The group of 43 engineers will spend the next four months dedicating itself full-time to deepen its knowledge in management, at the headquarters of Fundação Getulio Vargas. The opening ceremony took place at the Consulate of Argentina in Rio and was attended by the Republic of Argentina's presidency representative, Leandro Gorgal, and the consul-general, Marcelo Bertoldi. The event was also attended by FGV professors Marlos Lima, Paulo Figueiredo, Eduardo Marques, Istvan Kasznar and Bianor Cavalcanti, FGV's international director - who delivered the inaugural class Democracy and development: the public decisions of Brazil. The course is the result of an agreement between FGV and the Presidency of the Republic of Argentina which provides at least five years of joint activities, such as graduate programs and online projects.  Several alumni already occupy positions in the Argentinean public and private administration. They have been successful in applying what they have learned here, says the coordinator of the academic course, Marlos Lima. The first edition of the Specialization Course in the Management of Innovation in Science and Technology happened in 2012 and a third is scheduled for the first half of 2014.  This is a joint project between the Latin American Center of Public Policies of DINT/FGV, IDE, EBAPE and COPPE/UFRJ.
