FGV/EBAPE welcomes Jorge Paulo Lemann for undergraduate course aula magna

On May 16 the businessman Jorge Paulo Lemann gave the aula magna for the undergraduate students of Administration of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EBAPE). Speaking about the theme Lessons learned beyond the classroom, Lemann - one of AB InBev's controllers, the largest beer conglomerate of the world - talked a little about his career until he became one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time.Lemann began the lecture highlighting five aspects which, although important, are not taught: taking risks, keeping focus, dreaming big, having qualified people around you, and being efficient. The individual must become outstanding in his profession. Some important aspects to make a difference are taking risks, being focused and dreaming big. Taking risks is essential to innovate and to be exceptional, he advised. The student Ana Clara Velloso praised the initiative of the coordination of EBAPE's undergraduate course. No matter how many case studies we carry out, the experience of a person as Lemann offers a view of the labor market far beyond what we learn in the classroom. This type of activity should happen more times during the year and not only in the aula magna, explained Ana Clara, who is a student of the last semester of the Administration course. For the student João Guilherme Gozetto, who attends the 5th semester of administration, this was an excellent opportunity to get to know the human side of business as well. Despite being a reference in the business world, he is a very humble person and worries about transferring his expertise to young people, showing his concern about the country's future, he said.FGV's president, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, and the director of EBAPE, Professor Flavio Vasconcelos, opened the lecture, which was also attended by the adviser Lindolpho de Carvalho Dias; the academic dean at FGV, Professor Antônio Freitas; EBAPE's vice director, Professor Alvaro Cyrino; professor Claudia Costin, the head of EBAPE's Undergraduate Center, Professor Henrique Heidtmann Neto; and the coordinator of the Graduate Center of the School, Professor Richard Fonseca. The aula magna took place at the 12th floor of the auditorium of FGV's main offices in Rio de Janeiro. Please click here to view the photos of the meeting.About Jorge Paulo LemannKnown for his successful way of doing business, Lemann is currently the richest man in Brazil and one of the 65 Brazilian billionaires among the world's richest, according to Forbes magazine.
