FGV's Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) will welcome tomorrow, September 24, the president of Empresa Olímpica Municipal (Municipal Olympic Company - EOM), Maria Silvia Bastos Marques. She will give the lecture Business Management and Career Development - part of the series of lectures of the School's Executive Masters in Business Management (MEX), organized by professors Carlos Otavio Quintella and Marco Tulio Zanini.

Maria Silvia graduated in Public Administration at EBAPE, and has master's and PhD degrees in Economics from FGV/EPGE - Brazilian School of Economics and Finance. She was the coordinator of the external area of the Ministry of Finance?s Special Secretariat of Economic Policy; chief financial officer of the foreign department and Planning Director of the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES); secretary of Finance of the city of Rio de Janeiro; president of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) and Grupo Icatu Seguros, and also professor of PUC-Rio's Economics department and researcher of the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE).

Thanks to her connection with FGV, Maria Silvia participated in the project FGV: one history, many lives, which features reports of the paths traveled by students, professors, researchers and professionals who are studying or have studied at FGV.

The lecture Business Management and Career Development will take place at 7 pm, in the auditorium of the 12th floor of FGV's headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, and will be given in Portuguese.

The event is free and directed at professionals, students, academics and researchers.
