On May 16, the Institute of Educational Development (FGV/IDE) welcomed the Chief Global Officer of Manchester Business School (MBS), Nigel Banister, who was in Brazil to address strategies for the approach between Brazil and the United Kingdom in the education field. The Manchester Business School and FGV have been partners for five years and jointly offer the Global MBA ? international course with double certification through a blended program, with classes in São Paulo.Banister ? who also had a meeting with FGV's president, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal ? indicated that MBS is interested in increasing the partnership with FGV and introducing the Brazilian institution to the British school's alumni, opening a door to economic, political, cultural and social topics related to Latin America.?Preparing our students is much more than developing their skills. We have to empower them for multicultural work environments where they need to understand when to behave according to the local culture, as well as when to be flexible, and this comes from immersion and experience with different cultures. Thus, it is important that FGV and MBS work together ? in order to prepare our students and professors, and make our content become global?, stated Banister, adding that over 45% of MBS' professors are foreigners.Global MBAGlobal MBA is offered in six locations around the world, in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, China, the United States and Brazil, besides the headquarters in England. The Manchester Business School is accredited by the main three accreditation agencies of international MBA programs ? AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB International ?, and it is considered one of the main business schools in the world.Since the course was launched, it has more than three thousand students all over the world ? from which 91 are Brazilians. To learn more about the partnership between FGV and MBS, go to: www.fgv.br/fgvonline/manchester .In the picture, the representative of Manchester Business School between FGV's president, Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, and the director of Rede Management, Mario Pinto.
