In order to discuss the protests which took to the streets in June, the divisions and academic centers of FGV's undergraduate courses in Law, Economics, Management, Social Sciences and History in Rio de Janeiro held, with the support of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School, the event Demonstrations in Perspective.  During the morning, the lecture was held by professors Mario Machado, from FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School; Carlos Pereira, from FGV/EBAPE; Christiane Jalles, from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF); and Renato Fragelli, from FGV/EPGE, and mediated by the student Daniela Petti, from the FGV's Academic Directory of History and Social Sciences. In the afternoon, students discussed urban mobility and transport, the World Cup, the performance of the police during the protests, among other topics.  According to the student of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School, Antônio Bastos, who conceived the meeting, 'Demonstrations in Perspective' was innovative because it was organized by students and brought together four academic centers for a common goal, which has never happened in FGV, he says.  Besides Antônio, FGV's students Marina Bichara, Peter Saliba, Mariana Machado, Gabriel Aleixo, Pedro Mello and Guilherme Migliora also helped to organize the event.  The series of lectures and debates was attended by approximately 70 people last Friday and also took place on Friday July 12.
