At the time that the New Bankruptcy and Business Recovery Law (Law 11.101/2005) celebrates eight years of existence, professors at FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO), Luiz Roberto Ayoub and Cássio Cavalli, address the theme through the launch of the book Legal Precedents Construction of Judicial Recovery of Companies. In the work, they conduct extensive research that involves the collection of thousands of court verdicts of 19 Courts of Justice and the Superior Labor Court, Superior Court of Justice and the Supreme Court.  Divided into nine chapters, the book has a preface signed by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court, Luiz Fux, and the presentation of the lawyer, Paulo Penalva Santos. The objective of the authors is to outline a detailed portrait of how the Brazilian jurisprudence has built the institute of businesses' judicial recovery. The result is a work containing the different and often divergent guidelines found in Brazilian courts.  We try to describe the judicial recovery institute as it presents itself in forensic and economic life. The book obviously deals with judicial recovery, but emphasizing the tinged relations between bankruptcy and recovery law and the law of contracts, labor law, tax law, and lastly, other law branches which, together strive to correct the company's economic phenomenon and its recovery, explains professor Cássio Cavalli.  The publication is aimed at those who take care of judicial recovery daily construction, such as judges, lawyers and prosecutors, and also for those who seek to ponder over how much it has already been consolidated in the courts, such as professors and scholars. The work offers readers the opportunity to learn about already defined judicial understandings and others which are recent and diffuse.  The book is very important for those who are fighting in the business realm, because they will have the opportunity to get to learn about the thoughts of the greatest people responsible for building our jurisprudence about the theme. The book brings a great wealth of decisions harvested from the most diverse Courts of the country, says Professor Luiz Roberto Ayoub. Legal Precedents Construction of Judicial Recovery of Companies is the first book of the new partnership between FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School and Editora Forense, which wished to give even more emphasis to the dissemination of academic content produced by professors of the institution. The launch will take place on August 28, at 5 pm, at the Magistrates' Association of Rio de Janeiro (AMAERJ). Go to this link for more information on the work and its authors. (Page in Portuguese)
