FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School Professor joins global coalition to make internet access universal and accessible to all
In January of this year, Professor Luca Belli of the FGV´s Rio de Janeiro Law School began his term as a member of the Advisory Council of the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI). This organization is a global coalition composed of leading technology companies, various governments and civil society players across the world, aimed at developing policies required to reduce internet connection costs and make internet access universal and accessible to everyone.
Belli was elected to serve a three-year term. His work at A4AI will consist of supervising and guiding the organization’s plans, as well as participating in high-level decisions, guiding policies related to regulatory reforms, qualitative and quantitative research, engagement with national and international stakeholders, and international advocacy strategies.
A4AI is part of the World Wide Web Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving public and private policies that affect the internet. The institution was founded by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the World Wide Web and considered one of the “fathers of the internet.”
