FGV's São Paulo School of Economics is the best in the country
The undergraduate course of FGV's School of Economics (FGV/EESP) was granted the maximum grade (5) in the National Examination of Student Performance (Enade) - an evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in three-year cycles with the objective of monitoring the quality of higher education courses in Brazil.
From the 339 institutions that reached grade 5 in the 2012 evaluation (published this week), only four remained with grade 5, which differentiates the courses within the same range of punctuation. Among them we can find EESP - the first Economic Sciences course in the country and first among all the 7,228 evaluated courses.
This is the result of the commitment of our professors, who believe in the School project and are the main responsible players for its excellence, states the coordinator of the undergraduate program, Mayra Ivanoff Lora, who also emphasizes the importance of the actions of students and employees. Thanks to the dedication of our students, both in the exams and in the course of their training, and the support and dedication of those who work with us, we have been able to get where we are, she celebrates.
However, EESP's director, Yoshiaki Nakano, reminds us that the greatest challenges are still to come. The School motto is - to be the best is not enough. We cannot stop, we cannot settle. We always have to innovate. This is certainly a great result, but it increases our responsibility. And this increases our motivation to keep moving forward, he teaches.
This year, EESP's undergraduate course was also considered the best Economics course in Brazil by the University Ranking Folha (RUF 2013) - organized and published by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo. The ranking evaluates the teaching and insertion in the labor market requisites.
