Fight against LGBTphobia in Brazil is debated in webinar

On December 3, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo Law School will hold a free webinar called “How to Fight LGBTphobia in Brazil.” The event will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 10 am.
During the webinar, the participants will present a study carried out by students at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School’s Diversity Policy Clinic, who this semester have been studying policies for tackling LGBTphobia in Brazil and elsewhere and actively working to collect data on violence related to LGBTphobia, through contact with public and private sector stakeholders committed to the fight against LGBTphobia.
This research resulted in two products: an Advocacy Technical Statement and a Police Protocol. They were produced in order to contribute to the formulation of public policies to tackle violence against LGBT people, in partnership with the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTRA), the Brazilian Association of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites, Transexuals and Intersex People (ABGLT) and the National Network of LGBTI+ Public Security Professionals (RENOSP).
