First preview of June's IGP-M recorded a decrease

The General Price Index - Market (IGP-M) calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE) recorded a -0.64% change in the calculation for the first ten-day period of June. In the same calculation period of the previous month, the change was 0.06%.In the first preview, the Broad Producer Price Index (IPA) recorded a -1.32% change. In the same period of May, the index changed -0.28%. The deceleration is mainly due to the trajectories of items such as coffee and corn grains, and fresh milk. Soybeans, iron ore and sugar cane reported an increase in their change rates.The Consumer Price Index (IPC) has also decelerated and recorded a 0.14% change rate in the first ten-days period of June compared to the 0.64% rate for the same period of the previous month. Six of the eight classes of expenditure of the index recorded a decrease in their change rates and the main contribution came from the Food group, thanks to the behavior of the greens and vegetables item - whose rate changed from -0.33% to -8.70%.The National Construction Cost Index (INCC) recorded in the first ten-day period of June a 1.91% change rate, above the result of the previous month, which was 0.92%.The IGP-M calculation for the first 10-day period of June comprised the interval between the 21st and 31st of May.Please click here and read the full release and the tables.
