Folha de São Paulo publishes book by FGV professors on Mensalão
The director of FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School (DIREITO RIO), Joaquim Falcão; the School's graduate studies coordinator, Thiago Bottino; Professor Pablo Cerdeira and the lawyer Pierpaolo Botini will discuss, today, the Mensalão trial in the auditorium of the newspaper Folha de São Paulo.
After the debate - mediated by columnist Fernando Rodrigues - the book Mensalão - The Diary of a Trial will be launched in the state capital. The work brings together more than 140 articles and texts by FGV's Rio de Janeiro Law School's professors, published by the press during the period in which they also advised journalists from leading media publications across the country on areas of Criminal and Constitutional Law and Political Science.
The book is the result of a unique partnership between a Law school and the media, says Joaquim Falcão, who further highlights that the experience showed the new role of the university. Besides the classroom, we need to discuss important topics and explain them. Not only rationalize the justice done later on, but be part of the execution process, the professor explains.
The work Mensalão - Diary of a Trial has already been launched in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre.
The event in São Paulo, held in Portuguese, will start at 6:30 pm and admissions are free. In order to participate, it is necessary to register by sending an email to eventofolha@grupofolha.com.br.
The auditorium of the Folha de São Paulo is located at Alameda Barão de Limeira, 425, Campos Elíseos.
