Last Friday, February 7, São Paulo Law School (FGV DIREITO SP) was visited by Antonio Cezar Peluso, former minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who attended the graduation ceremony of its 5th graduating class. Peluso was the first sponsor chosen who is not a member of the faculty of the School. This choice is in line with the quest of São Paulo Law School to increasingly participate in the legal and political debate of the nation?, he said, ?mainly by initiatives such as the intense coverage of Criminal Case 470, which judged the Mensalão scheme, and the production of research aimed at bringing elements to contribute to the development of the country. Inviting Minister Peluso expressed this desire to engage more with reality, explained Professor José Garcez Ghirardi. In a speech, the former minister encouraged students to look for the human being behind every legal issue in their profession, taking human dignity as the great good to be defended. We live in a time when technology has invaded privacy and all reactions are instantaneous. It is a very bad situation for defense and human rights, said Peluzo.During the ceremony, the honored Professor, José Garcez Ghirardi, and the class sponsor Professor, Dimitrios Dimoulis, also delivered speeches. The event took place at Buffet Rosa Rosarum, in São Paulo.
