Forum brings together specialists to discuss opportunities and solutions for rail concessions

On Thursday, June 27, the Fórum Nacional Concessões de Ferrovias: Oportunidades e Soluções (“National Rail Concession Forum: Opportunities and Solutions”), will be held in Sao Paulo. The event features the support of FGV Transport and will bring together specialists and authorities for a debate focusing on new business in the rail agenda, a model whose participation the Government intends to double in the transportation matrix by 2025, from the current 15-30% in this short term.

To address this ambitious restructuring program, the event will unite the expectations of the Government and the private sector with a recent auction of the North-South Railway, the major backbone of the rail network, and for the next two rail concessions by 2020: FIOL and the Ferrogrão bidding, which will have potential transformers for agribusiness and an enormous impact on freight.

Simultaneously, the event will clarify how concession agreements will be extended in advance using the grants due for the extension of contracts to build new segments.

The event will be attended by Mario Rodrigues Junior (ANTT), Alexandre Porto (ANTT), Marcos Kleber Ribeiro Felix (Ministry of Infrastructure), Pedro dos Passos (BNDES), Fernando Paes (ANTF), Guilherme Penin (Rumo Logística), Vicente Abate (ABIFER), Gustavo Gardini (Deutsche Bahn International), Rodolfo Daniel Gonzalez (ANPTrilhos – Metrô Bahia), Beto Vasconcelos (Xavier Vasconcelos e Valerim Advogados), Bento José de Lima (Consultoria Sysfer), and Luis Felipe Valerim (Xavier Vasconcelos e Valerim Advogados).
