FGV Projetos attended the 1st BNB Forum of Medium-Sized Cities G20 + 20, in Fortaleza.

FGV Projetos attended the 1st BNB Forum of Medium-Sized Cities G20 + 20, which took place on November 23-24 at the main office of Banco do Nordeste, in Fortaleza. FGV Projetos was represented by Technical Director Ricardo Simonsen, FGV Professor and Project Coordinator Henrique Paim, and Project Coordinator Baiena Souto.

Created to discuss the importance of medium-sized cities for regional development, the event brought together representatives of the 40 largest medium-sized cities from Northeastern Brazil, in addition to municipalities in Northern Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, not including metropolitan areas and capital cities. The first day of the forum focused on the presentation of exhibition panels, and a fair was held on the second day to promote business and investment opportunities.

The Technical Director of FGV Projetos, Ricardo Simonsen, spoke about the challenges of financial management and funding to the municipalities during the business fair. Henrique Paim and Baiena Souto took part in the first roundtable of the exhibition panels, discussing the role of medium-sized cities within the regional development strategy. FGV Projetos also had a booth to provide services to the municipalities.

Another goal of the 1st BNB Forum of Medium-Sized Cities G20 + 20 was to create a business and governance platform to encourage partnerships between municipalities, private sector, development banks, international financial institutions, research institutions, and government agencies.
