Free event discusses digital sovereignty from perspective of G20 members
Digital Sovereignty in the G20 is being organized as part of the CPDP LatAm 2024 conference and it is an official side event for T20, the G20’s think tank engagement group

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Rio de Janeiro Law School is holding an event called “Digital Sovereignty in the G20.” The meeting will take place on July 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., in FGV’s main building in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro. It will also be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The event aims to promote a better understanding of the different dimensions that make up the debate on digital sovereignty, from the perspective of G20 members. The panelists will explore multiple key issues related to the concept of digital sovereignty, including cybersecurity, data sovereignty, the use of data and digital technologies to promote individual and national self-determination, the development and implementation of digital public infrastructure, and sovereignty in artificial intelligence.
