Fundação Getulio Vargas offers international seminar on the business of sports
FGV's Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) is holding, until today, the seminar The Global Business of Sports: Encouraging International Opportunities, in Portuguese) - conducted by Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business - to discuss international business practices and the sport industry in Brazil with industry experts.
The seminar originated from the program by Georgetown University, The Global Business of Sports, aimed at professionals from the private initiative, the government or non-governmental organizations, interested in adding economic and social benefits, and new technologies to their institutions and locations in which they are inserted. The objective is to help participants to navigate in this industry, as well as to apply business practices in the international sports scene.
The meeting was attended by Matt Winkler (Georgetown University), Jimmy Lynn (Georgetown University), Henrique Fontenelle (Rio 2016 Summer Olympics), Manoel Flowers (the Brazilian Football Confederation - CBF), André Coelho (FGV), Raj Saha, (AEG Facilities), Rafael Eboli (AEG), Jay Neuhaus (FIFA), Alicia Klein (Golden Goal Sports) and Luis Olivalves (ESPN Brazil), in addition to EBAPE's professor, André Coelho.
According to André Coelho, the seminar positions the School and FGV in a strategic way in the knowledge construction process dedicated to the impact of businesses in sports and the promotion of sports events. The partnerships with major schools of management in the world and their centers of applied research strengthen FGV's international operation model, he says.
The Global Business of Sports: Brazil - Igniting International Opportunities began on October 10, and it is taking place at FGV's headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro.
