Fundação Getulio Vargas participates in The Government Summit in Dubai, UAE

On February 11 and 12, a delegation composed of members of the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic and the Government of Minas Gerais attended the first Government Summit of the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. Invited as a strategic partner, FGV, through its International Board, was responsible for the design of a panel dedicated to Brazil, in which cases of the country's success in the area of ??public administration were exposed. According to the International Director of FGV, professor Bianor Cavalcanti, Our participation, at the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Governor of Dubai, came in response to the expectation of the UAE government and other regional countries surrounding the Gulf in learning more about Brazil's ability to provide services and implement complex and socially relevant public policies and programs. The panel Brasil included lectures by the professor Bianor Cavalcanti, who presented the organization and implementation of systemic modeling for the Bolsa Família program; the deputy chief of Government Policies Analysis and Monitoring of the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic, Luiz Alberto dos Santos, who outlined an overview of the economic and social indicators that show the Brazilian efficiency in public services in health and education; and the CEO of the Strategic Priorities Office in the Minas Gerais Government, André Barrence, who showed the approaches and results achieved by his state in providing quality education, respecting local differences and from a results-oriented participatory approach. The panel's mediation was led by Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi, Vice President for Securities and Commodities Licensing, Supervision and Enforcement of the UAE Government. FGV Projetos supported the participation of the International Board at the event, which gathered more than two thousand delegates from the United Arab Emirates and surrounding countries. FGV had a prominent promotional space for displaying publications and exchanging ideas, along with institutions such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN) and the Lee Kuan University, from Singapore, strategic partners of the event as well.
