Global meeting in Copenhagen discusses digital democracy

On June 26-28, Marco Aurélio Ruediger, Director of FGV’s Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP), attended the global meeting on digital democracy in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event brought together the Design for Democracy (D4D) coalition – led by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), of which the FGV DAPP is a member – during the 2019 Copenhagen Democracy Summit, dedicated to strengthening democracies with the participation of researchers and experts from around the world.

Ruediger was alongside members of more than 70 countries who discussed political changes in the world and, subsequently, the influence of digital media in democracy. The FGV DAPP brought to the meeting the experience of the Digital Democracy Room – #observa2018, an initiative to monitor social networks during the Brazilian elections last year.
