Gripen Fighter at FGV attracts more than 14,000 visitors
It was a flight to the future. More than 14,000 people, including children, teenagers, students, the curious and aviation professionals, went to the FGV Cultural Center recently to see a replica of the Brazilian Air Force’s new F-39 Gripen Multi-Mission Fighter. The aircraft was on display from March 16 to April 29.
According to aviation experts, the exhibition was a success. “When I saw on the internet that it was a fiberglass replica, I didn’t think it would be such a perfect reproduction. It’s very realistic. I liked it a lot,” said Felipe Fernandes. Another specialist in the area, Felipe Menezes, an aircraft mechanic, said he was delighted with the exhibition. “I found the experience very educational. My background is in this area and I really liked the avionics and seeing the entire structure assembled. It was a very good exhibition,” he said.
Children were also excited to see the replica of the Gripen Fighter. According to Viviane Campos, the mother of two air scouts, the possibility of seeing the plane close-up was beneficial for her children. “When we found out that we could visit the replica and learn a little more about the plane, they were very curious. We thought it was wonderful to have it here in our city,” she said. They were able to ask questions and they learned some interesting facts during their visit.
