Industry Confidence decreases 1.1% in February, according to IBRE

The preview of the Industry Confidence Index (ICI) of February, calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV/IBRE) signals a 1.1% decrease compared to the end result of January, considering data free of seasonal influences. With the decrease, the index would reach 98.4 points - below the historical average for the 11th consecutive month.According to the institute, this result was influenced both by the sector's reviews on the present moment and the expectations for the following months. The preview shows that the Current Situation Index (ISA) would back down 1.6%, to 99.3 points, while the Expectations Index (IE) would decrease 0.6% to 97.5 points. For the preview on the Industry Survey, 808 companies were surveyed between the 3rd and the 17th this month.
