Interested Parties can now enroll for EMAp's masters degree in Mathematical Modeling of Information
The School of Applied Mathematics of Fundação Getulio Vargas (EMAp/FGV) has started its selective process for the Academic Master's in Mathematical Modeling of Information, whose goal is to train researchers and professionals in the field of Applied Mathematics who will be capable of analyzing scenarios and making decisions during intensive use of data and information. The master degree has an unprecedented approach on the market, because it integrates the body of knowledge of Computer Science and Information, with a focus on problems arising from Social Sciences, Economic Sciences, Biological Sciences and Health, under the scope of Applied Mathematics, explains the coordinator of the course, Professor Renato Souza. The course is made up of 22 disciplines and it is aligned, according to Souza, with the research trends of the newly-created Information Mathematics department, which seeks to serve a scientific, professional and social panorama for the coming years. The market needs a professional with the profile that we shape, but there are no courses oriented at this kind of skills, added Souza. The selective process is divided into three phases - examination of the curriculum, Summer Course and interview. The candidates who are named to take the Summer Course (which will take place in January 2014) will be evaluated by their performance in Mathematics and Computing. The enrollment goes until December 16th and classes start in February 2014.For more information, please click below (in Portuguese):http://emap.fgv.br/pos-graduacao/selecao.html
