International conference brings together education leaders to discuss higher education in Latin America
On July 14, Professor Edson Kondo, the dean of Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of Public Policy and Government (FGV EPPG), took part in the “THE Latin American Universities Summit 2021 – Universities for the Good: Rebuilding Economic and Social Development,” held by Times Higher Education (THE).
The event aimed to examine how higher education across the Latin American region can develop strategies to build capacity, adapt to digitization, increase strategic impacts and improve public appreciation of universities’ role in social progress.
The online meeting brought together leaders from across the region and their institutional partners around the world to focus on the internationalization of Latin American universities and how universities can strengthen their work in the humanities and social sciences, reinforce their partnerships with the private sector and reposition themselves as agents for positive changes.
The event also featured the exclusive live launch of THE Latin America University Rankings 2021, accompanied by a detailed masterclass that examined the latest data from one of the world’s most highly regarded rankings.
