Ipea and FGV release book on role of the state and development strategies

The work seeks to analyze in depth the debate on democracy, development and implementation of public policies in various sectors through new concepts and analytical models that enable a better understanding of the operation of players within the state

The professors Mário Schapiro (DIREITO SP), Marco Antônio Carvalho Teixeira and Maria Rita Loureiro (FGV/EAESP) will participate today in the launching debate of the book Capacidades Estatais e Democracia: Arranjos Institucionais de Políticas Públicas? (Democracy and State Capabilities: Institutional Arrangements for Public Policy)- published by the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) and conducted through collaboration among researchers of the Institute, FGV, and other institutions in Brazil and the world.The work seeks to analyze in depth the debate on democracy, development and implementation of public policies in various sectors through new concepts and analytical models that enable a better understanding of the operation of players within the state and its interactions with democratic institutions in the implementation processes of the cases studied.The book's editors and the Planning and Research technicians of Ipea, Alexandre Gomide and Roberto Pires will also attend the event.The launch will take place at 1 pm in room 804 of FGV's building at Rua Itapeva, 432, São Paulo.The event is free and open to the public.
