Mediation and arbitration explored in series of events
The FGV Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration recently held the first meeting in a series of events aimed at delving into specific sectors and their use of mediation and arbitration. The meeting, which took place at the end of July, brought together several experts in the field. Dr. Maria D’Assunção gave a lecture titled “Evolution and New Challenges in Litigation Related to the Unregulated Power Market.”
The speaker addressed issues regarding the electricity generation and distribution markets. She also discussed Law 10,848 of 2004, power auctions and the advantages and disadvantages of these markets.
There was then a debate about the main reasons why Electricity Sales Chamber (CCEE) agents seek arbitration and mediation as a means of resolving disputes between power generators, traders and buyers.
