Michel Prieur gives Environmental Law workshop in Rio de Janeiro

Professor Michel Prieur ? Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences of Limoges, France ? was at DIREITO RIO as visiting professor and gives several workshops this week on Environmental Law. The events, organized by the Program on Law and the Environment (PDMA), will be attended by guest professors and jurists of the Public Defender?s Office, Public Ministry and Magistrates to discuss the relevance of the topic for the Brazilian conditions.One of the pioneers in Environmental Law, Michel Prieur is also the honorary president of the Société Française pour le Droit de l'Environnement (SFDE), honorary president of the Association Européenne de Droit de l'Environnement (AEDE), scientific director of CRIDEAU - CNRS/INRA, and vice-president of the Commission on Environmental Law of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).There were a total of three workshops, which took place on July 9 and 10, at FGV headquarters.
