This year, the Professional Master’s Program at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School will welcome another special class, in the Tax Law area, made up of National Treasury prosecutors. The initiative meets a demand from the National Treasury Prosecution Office and aims to further qualify employees of the institution.

“The main objective of the Professional Master’s Program is to train students by developing skills and abilities valued in modern professionals, such as intellectual rigor, critical thinking, strategic vision, analytical capacity, multidisciplinary dialogue, international understanding and ethical judgment.” explains Mario Engler, the program’s coordinator.

The National Treasury Prosecution Office’s special class will be made up of 25 prosecutors working in different regions of Brazil. The curriculum contains 30-hour courses on various tax law topics, combined with multidisciplinary approaches. The thematic content of the courses covers taxation policies and dynamics, law and economics, budgeting and public finance, tax accounting, tax litigation, tax collection, and legal data processing and analysis (jurimetrics). The curriculum also includes three research pathway modules and elective courses or other academic activities agreed upon with the coordination office.
