New course explores economic and social consequences of ChatGPT and other AI tools
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) is running a course called Artificial Intelligence and ChatGPT: Economic and Social Consequences. It will take place every Wednesday between August 2 and October 25, 2023, from 2 pm to 3:40 pm, in FGV’s main building.
The course will explore the economic, social, educational and technical aspects of artificial intelligence, focusing in particular on the ChatGPT chatbot developed by OpenAI. Without concentrating on mathematical and computational aspects, the course will examine economic, social and democratic representation issues related to the consequences of rapid technological progress in this area.
The course, which has 20 hours of classes, is being coordinated by professors Alexandre Madureira and Rubens Penha Cysne, and it qualifies as an extension activity for all FGV EPGE undergraduate students.
