New Law on Tenders and Contracts is discussed in second webinar on subject
FGV Knowledge will hold its second webinar on Brazil’s new law governing public tenders and contracts, titled “The Processing of Public Tenders According to Law 14,133 of 2021,” on July 30, 2021, at 9 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel. The aim of this meeting is to discuss the tender processing stage, encompassing the activities of public officials, contract execution regimes, judging criteria and various sector rules in areas such as purchases, construction work and services.
This series of online meetings is bringing together public officials and experts in the area. The guest speakers who will kick off this second meeting include Judge Benjamin Zymler of the Federal Audit Court, who is also the academic coordinator of these webinars; Judge Elton Leme of the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Appeals, who is also the deputy coordinator of FGV Knowledge’s Center for Judicial Innovation, Administration and Research; and the editorial director of ConJur, Márcio Chaer.
The first panel discussion, “Tender Modalities, Judging Criteria and Auxiliary Procedures of Law 14,133 of 2021,” will feature federal attorney Ronny Charles and Marcos Nóbrega, acting board member of Pernambuco State Accounting Court. The moderator will be Juliana Loss, researcher and executive coordinator at FGV Knowledge’s Center for Judicial Innovation, Administration and Research.
The second panel discussion will debate “The Role of Auctioneers and Procurement Agents in the New Tender Law.” Senate legislative analyst Victor Amorim and Paraná state prosecutor José Anacleto Abduch Santos will be the guest expert speakers. The moderator will be Judge Elton Leme. The closing speech will be given by lawyer Marçal Justen Filho.
The new Law on Tenders and Contracts (Law 14,133 of 2021) was approved on April 1 and it is already in force. It may be used by public sector bodies at all three levels of government.
