New online business administration course focuses on micro and macro entrepreneurs

“Entrepreneurship, whether on a micro or macro scale, is fundamental to Brazil’s economic progress,” says Professor Hélio Irigaray, the coordinator of FGV’s new Online Business Administration Graduate Course. The course will invest in applied research and the development of training for micro and macro entrepreneurs.

According to Professor Irigaray, the rise of micro and macro entrepreneurs is fundamental to Brazil’s growth and this has been noted by the markets and also education institutions, given that the development and application of new ideas is among their roles. Thus, it is necessary for the academic and corporate worlds to come together to intensify investment in university research centers in order to take innovations to the contemporary world.

The Online Business Administration Graduate Course aims to provide a robust education in management to people who have a good idea and want to start a business and draw up a business plan. The program’s professors have strong academic backgrounds and market experience, and they are able to lead students to reflect on opportunities and challenges to be faced.

There will be a mandatory seminar at the end of the course, as part of the FGV Enterprise Competition. Students may attend this seminar remotely or in person, in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo.

Course’s distinctive features

The course is based on the principle of applicability. However, its main distinctive feature is its customization for each group of students. Each group has an executive professor and experienced market professional to ensure the applicability of content.

“We understand that our students are agents of knowledge and they need to be energized. These professionals are protagonists, who arrive in the classroom with knowledge, experiences and specific characteristics to be dynamized, through the sharing of experiences, networking, flipped classrooms and, above all, access to what only FGV can offer,” Irigaray says.
