Online event debates water sector funding  

At a time when many governments are holding sanitation auctions, FGV Executive Education will hold a webinar called “New challenges for water and sanitation sector funding in Brazil.” At the meeting, to take place on Wednesday, May 5, at 2 pm, sector specialists and players will discuss new funding possibilities for projects in the sector in Brazil and the role of the national development bank, BNDES, in providing credit and development models.

At the webinar, which will be broadcast at 2 pm on FGV’s YouTube channel, the guests will debate the role to be played by specific investment funds as well as foreign and institutional investors, in light of the new regulatory framework for sanitation and recent concessions granted to the private sector.

The speakers will be the head of BNDES’ Environmental Sanitation Credit Department, Laura Bedeschi Rego de Mattos; and the head of BNDES’ Public-Private Partnership Department, Guilherme da Rocha Albuquerque. The moderator will be Edson Gonçalves, a senior researcher at FGV CERI and professor at FGV EPGE, FGV EBAPE and FGV EMAp.
