Online event discusses prospects for high school graduates in context of pandemic

On July 23, at 10 am, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for the Development of Public Management and Educational Policy (FGV DGPE), FGV High School and FGV In Company will hold a webinar called “Prospects for High School Graduates in the Pandemic’s Context.” The event, organized in partnership with the National Council of State Education Secretaries and the Itaú Social Foundation, is part of a series titled “Basic Education Challenges During the Pandemic.” It will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 10 am.

The event will feature Rossieli Soares (the Sao Paulo state education secretary), Jerônimo Rodrigues (the Bahia state education secretary), Ricardo Henriques (the executive manager of the Unibanco Institute), Mozart Ramos (a member of the National Education Council and holder of the Sérgio Henrique Ferreira research chair at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Ribeirão Preto) and Nalanda Pereira (a student at the Minas Gerais Education Institute). They will discuss solutions for students in the third year of high school, who need their diploma to apply to university or to get a job. The event will be moderated by Ana Inoue, the education and work manager at the Itaú Education and Culture Foundation.

This will be the 11th webinar in the “Basic Education Challenges During the Pandemic” series, which has been looking at different subjects, such as technology, teaching practices, educational materials, meals and alternative ways of monitoring and evaluating learning in the context of the present crisis.
