Online event looks at National Curriculum’s role in everyday early childhood education practices

The Center for Excellence and Innovation in Education Policies (CEIPE) at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) is holding a webinar called “The National Curriculum and Early Childhood Education Practices.” The event will take place on August 8, at 10 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel. During the webinar, sector specialists will present their experiences to contribute to the debate.
The National Curriculum is a document that public and private sector schools are obliged to follow when drawing up their school curricula and teaching plans for early childhood, elementary and high school education in Brazil.
The moderator will be FGV CEIPE’s project coordinator, Nayara Araújo. The speakers will be Claudia Costin, FGV CEIPE’s director; Marcela Levigard, social program manager at Petrobras; Janair Cassiano, the reading, writing and early childhood education coordinator at the Municipal Education Secretariat in Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais; Kleytton dos Santos, executive secretary at the Municipal Education Secretariat in Teresina, Piauí; Helena Lima, the municipal education secretary in Quissamã, Rio de Janeiro; and Vivian Barros, an education management specialist at FGV CEIPE.
