Online Master Talk discusses economic prospects for 2024
The Master’s Program at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding an online Master Talk about economic prospects for 2024. This public event will take place on December 4, at 6 p.m., on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The end of the year is an opportune time for taking stock and analyzing possible scenarios. There are many challenges for an analyst in Brazil at this moment. The first year of a new government, an intense fiscal and tax agenda and the Central Bank’s challenges in conducting monetary policy add to global challenges, the economic consequences of international conflicts, world growth difficulties and uncertainties in the monetary policies of central banks in the advanced economies.
There will be two guest speakers: Ana Paula Vescovi, chief economist and partner at Santander Brasil and a columnist for Folha de S. Paulo, who was formerly a secretary at the National Treasury, executive secretary at the Finance Ministry and Espírito Santo state finance secretary; and Otaviano Canuto, senior fellow at the Policy Center for the New South and a former vice president of the World Bank, where he was also executive director, as well as vice president of the Inter-American Development Bank and executive director of the International Monetary Fund.
The moderator will be Márcio Holland, a professor and the coordinator of FGV EESP’s Master’s Program.
