Online meeting discusses legal methodologies and documentation

The FGV Library System is holding a webinar titled “Legal Methodologies and Standardization of Legal Documents (References and Citations)” on September 12, at 2 p.m., on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The event aims to help law students and academics deal with a common challenge: the correct application of bibliographical reference rules in their academic work. The speakers will be Ana Cláudia Mota dos Santos and Cristiano Nunes, both librarians at the FGV Karl A. Boedecker Library.
During the meeting, fundamental structures and main key elements in the development of academic research in this field will be explored. Concrete examples will be presented from the vast collection of works available in the FGV Digital Library.
A significant part of the webinar will be dedicated to a detailed analysis of the latest ABNT referencing and citation standards, including NBR 6023-2018 for References and NBR 10520-2023 for Citations. Using legal documents as practical sources, the speakers will demonstrate in a clear and objective manner how to construct accurate bibliographical references and make appropriate citations. The focus will be on ensuring the quality and conformity of methodological approaches in academic work in the field of law.
