Portuguese newspaper highlights article by FGV/EBAPE professor on the future of management

The article ?Where is Brazil heading to in the management field??, by the professor of The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) Alexandre Faria, was one of the highlights of the July 2nd edition of the Portuguese newspaper ?Público?. The text presents an analysis of the direction that emerging countries and major powers are taking in the field of management. In Faria's opinion, the responsibility assumed by the United States to supposedly insert developing countries in the new world order has been sealed by controversy and continuous conflicts. Military interventions and soft power were mobilized to overcome any resistance in the rest of the world. The idea that whoever runs the world's management also runs the world of management is in crisis and, according to the professor, such an illusion means a major turning point in management that Brazil cannot ignore. As part of the insertion's management process, the management literature has described and analyzed the progress of emerging economies (especially the BRICs) and peripheral countries, such as Ireland or Poland, as evidence of the success of the new neoliberal order. The performance of corporations in the rest of the world came to be described and analyzed as evidence that everyone could reach the future, as long as the models were implemented efficiently and quickly, said Faria. Please click here and read the full article (in Portuguese).
